Bridgestone Battlax T31 or Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II

My Gen2 came with Bridgestone Battlax T31 which were pretty good for OEM tyres but got some Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II for trackdays. My plan was to refit the T31s for winter but the RC2s seem very good in the wet so far. Any experience or opinions please?

Calling them ‘OEM tyres’ isn’t quite right.

They are ‘as supplied’, just as others are - depending on supply availability

They are totally different tyres, but if you are able to change them a few times in a year economically - then sure - why not.

is there enough meat left on the Pirelli for another trackday? If not, wear them out on the bike then refit the T31 for road use.

If there is enough life in the Pirelli for another track day then save them for the original purpose as the T31 will be fine for winter road use.

I absolutely did not like the Stone T31's. Put 3K on them and off they came. Put on the Pirelli Angle GT II "A" Spec. Man, what a difference in twisty riding.

Just wait until you try the Conti Road Attack 3s, the same as the GT2 but actually lasts, and doesn't square off after 2000 miles lol.

I've been pleasantly surprised by the Dunlop RoadSmart IV...excellent dry and wet grip, I'd be prepared to say they're up there with the Road 5 performance wise. Have well over 7,000km on mine and they're not even half worn. I do a lot of motorway riding on my daily work commute and they've still got a good profile.

    Smithy.
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather....not screaming like the passengers in his car..!

Just put another set of Roadsmart 3s on my K16GT, struggling to get 4s in the UK for some reason. Amazingly good and underrated tyre, will certainly give them a try on the XR when the time comes.

Ran Road Smarts for more years than I can remember on a variety of bikes and was more than happy, my contact came up with a deal on Michelin’s so on the basis never bite the hand that feeds you 😀 went with the flow, it’s a Power RS on the front no matter what, if it’s UK same on the rear, across the channel then it’s a Road 5, jeez tyres are like women it’s whats floats your boat...hang on i’m Getting politically incorrect so i’ll Stop  :001:

My "new to me" 2019 XR had a T31 on the back that was almost new and a squared off T30 on the front. I changed the front to a T32 and am in the process of breaking it in. I'm curious to see how the Bridgestones perform. However, just before I sold my Multistrada I had installed the Pirelli Angel GT II's and it was like a different bike. If the the BStones don't cut it, I may go back to the Pirelli's

I'd skip the GT2s for some Road 5s or ContiRA3s
