Hello from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I now have ~2,000 miles on my '21 XR. All the new XR's that I looked at, that were sitting in dealers, were all equipped with the same packages & accessories. I placed a "special order" to be able to secure what I wanted. I waited 3-months. It was worth the wait. My XR does not have the GPS Prep, hand guards, touring windshield... It does have the hp forged wheels. I am using 30 liter Hepco-Becker panniers & Wunderlicjh tank bag. I've added ABM clutch & brake levers + Puig footrests. My GPS is a Garmin XT, mounted onto a dedicated (Tourtech) mount that attaches to the handlebar clamp. I'm thoroughly enjoying the thing. The throttle response improved following the first 'service.' The shifting effort is progressively improving. Handling is confidence inspiring. My only complaints are the buzzy motor, especially around 6,000 rpm. I wish the XR had more grunt between 4-6K revs. I would happily sacrifice top-end power for more in the lower & middle.

The H-B bags came off a bike I have since sold. I have used them exclusively for a long time on a few different motorbikes. They are completely waterproof - no need for a liner. I have used the OE BMW panniers on rentals. I found having to use a key to open the pannier a pain - made more annoying when everything became keyless. The H-B panniers are a quality piece of kit, and less expensive than the BMW pieces.
