Bare end weights with hand guards
« on: June 01, 2016, 01:12:50 PM »
Could someone please recommend heavier bar end weights for use with hand-guards.
Many thanks.

I got the HVMP bar ends.
Did not install yet as I'm travelling but they feel HEAVY.

Evotech has even heavier stuff.

I've had the Evotech bar-end weights for a while and am happy with them. They are very nicely made and easy to fit, with Grip Buddies from Nippy Norman they smooth the vibes.

I have the HVMP and they fit real nice with the stock handguards. Really helped reduce the amplitude of the frequency and I am glad I got them added to the bike.

 Got the Evotech ones.
How tight should they be?
Sensible answers only please.

I bought Cymarc ones which did the trick. Supplied with longer bolts to suit.

Torque them to 38Nm. I also used Loctite thread-lock just to be sure.

I've got the Cymarc ones with longer bolts from BMW, so it looks stock. As to torque, I just did them up as tight as necessary.

I have the Evotech "silver" ones. Easy to fit and a noticeable vibration reduction effect.  :002:

I bought the Cymarc bar end weights via Nippy Normans, longer bolt supplied, torqued to 38nM, definitely made a noticeable reduction in vibes, no problem at all to fit.
