      bought mine at auction few jobs to do would like to contact previous owner 2018 bike reg ending in TTZ

    BMW may have the details from their service records or you could do a paid dvla check possibly?

    Data protection laws are applied on persons I think.
    Personally, I emailed former dealer (based on the stamps on book service) and asked info about last service for my bike and they helped me!

    DVLA have removed previous owners details from V5 registration certificate now as well.

    What if you had a bump in your car and wanted to contact the owner of the vehicle involved? You can no longer do this? So how does one contact them? I am not disagreeing ....just asking 😁

    I think that is done via your insurer/their insurer.      Used to be the norm where your ‘mate the policeman’ could look that up - but those days are long-gone.    Every query gets investigated and will result in disciplinary action if not warranted.

    I take the point about the service record from the dealer, as that is non-divulging of the previous owner’s details.

    I think dealers will routinely give you the last service overview, but unless as a personal favour - would not release any more details.
