Gen 2 rear indicator signals not very visible.

Has anyone else had comments about the rear turn signals not showing up very well when braking?
I ride with several different riders. All of them happen to be IAM qualified.
In the two weeks I've owned the bike, I've had 2 separate comments about them being hard to see.
If this is the case, I see it as a safety issue.
I note that some cars turn off the front led DRL when indicating to make them show up better. Audi, Land rover, Mercedes. There may be others.

I'd be interested to hear others opinions, observations. :024:

Yea it's pretty bad, have a few Gen 2 friends and a few people with the latest RR, all the same, indicators are barely good enough when not braking, straight up invisible when braking at any distance further than 30ft, worst offender imo is the latest GS which has both a regular taillight and these new style running light/indicators too. Imo it's not a bad idea, just bad execution, the brake light shouldn't envelop the indicator when it's already so small, the colour is also a bit more on the reddish side, should've been that really yellow colour like the Gen 1 led indicators.

I went with dual Denali B6 rear lights with the Denali CanSmart controller and they make a huge difference on my Gen 1.  You can have them flash on deceleration or braking or use them as auxiliary turn signals.  When going on a group ride the riders behind me have commented on how useful the deceleration blinking is in alerting them to engine braking...

The Gen 1 rear lighting is completely different to the Gen 2 and this post is about indicators not brake lights.
I Do not like the Gen 2 setup with no central light unit at all. Putting all lighting into two small indicator pods is bonkers in my opinion and I believe that there will be aftermarket solutions hitting the market before too long.

As per the original post you can configure the B6 lights to function as auxiliary turn signals which will definitely stand out against the OEM brake light ...

I have Denali B6 running brake light on bottom of numberplate. It doesn’t solve indicators not being clear but people will notice your braking.
I have T3 running/indicators fitted to hand guards.
    Be seen be safe

I've got T3s on my Multistrada and they are great, the brake lights (or running lights) turn off when you indicate (for the specific indicator) which makes the indicators far more visible. I am just about to add them to my recently aquired Gen 1 S1000XR.
they use all 4 connectors on a EZCan which is a bit of a pain, I'll try them this way and if not happy tap into the light connectors to free up EZCan connections (Seems tapping directly does not work on the XR as per this thread [https://www.s1000xr.uk/index.php/topic,5046.msg44070.html#msg44070]).

    has anyone done this?

HI, fellow IAM member, I've commented on this to others and think the integration is poorly done as it is with the Yamaha aftermarket indicator/brake light combinations, see my post above re Denali T3's. Outstanding option in my opinion.

I've got dual Denali B6's on the back for brake and turning (takes up 2 EZCAn ports for turning only 1 for braking) and also added LED bulbs from http://dynamicmotorrad.com/  which may be the cheapest option if you just want increased visibility for the turn signals ...
