I have a Red top Box, inner bag and pillion back rest that I won't use. I already have the givi plate to fit and a givi top box.

Problem is, the lock is that same as my key, how do you get around this? Assuming there's a cost, is it a hefty amount, just so I know what to ask for it.. it came with the bike and I wasn't expecting it so not gonna be asking a lot..  :001:

Re-keying is a very simple job, the same as panniers, there are loads of youtube videos out there on the subject. A BMW top box is quite an expensive item and you should get a top price for it.
    If only it was black.

Agree, but first you need to get the locks out. That's something else. Some seems to have luck with paperclip method. I had an accident on my 2020, sold it but kept panniers for the new one. So took locks out to be ready for re-keying.  Left cylinder lock just pulled out with the key inserted. The right one not. Had to take the whole case apart to get to the locking clip.

I am interested in the top box & inner bag and I live in York.  Let me know if you manage to remove the key barrel and we can work out a price.

    thanks

    Andrew

I'll take a look tonight, I assume it needs to come out before I pass it on so you can fit one that matches your ignition key..  :084:

    The box looks great.

This looks like a good tutorial:  https://www.mototrip-tours.com/blog/workshop/rekeying-bmw-case-locks/
