BMW HP levers
« on: June 10, 2016, 11:53:57 AM »
so for those of us that are less well endowed than others (small hands) do the HP levers give sufficient adjustment to stop the stretching required to reach the standard levers as fitted?? I have pazzos fitted to my RR and get on with them really well but see they do not yet list for the XR.....thoughts please....

Hi Tintin XR

I don't use the clutch much what with the shift assist but I get where your coming from with the lever the break is not so bad as it's adjustable but the clutch is a bit of a stretch, so I did a quick bit of research and found the two sites below.

The levers on the first site look very nice and the cost's not to bad either.

After over thirty years behind the bars, I’ve still not done it all or seen it all.

Have the HP clutch levers. It has made a difference for me and they look gorgeous. Having said that wish it would come in a bit more not a biggie for me. Aftermarket ones will probably give you more room to adjust the span and a good deal cheaper but have the quickshifter and I have heard installing aftermarket ones can be tricky with this option.

The Speigler/ABM Synto levers are much closer to the handlebars than the HP levers, cost less than half the price and fit and work perfectly.

Some levers had issues with the auto asst clutch, cruise control and also pulled the cable at the wrong angle causing a sawing effect.

These are flawless.  Finally a great solution.

I have small hands (size 8.5 in BMW gloves), and the HP levers. They are perfect for me.

Here's a video of the Speigler/ABM lever install:

My install didn't go as smoothly for the clutch as the video looks.  I kept bending one micro switch contact strip.  I finally just installed it and then while squeezing the lever, bent the strip back with needle nose pliers. The cruise control and clutch asst worked fine.
