Gear Shift Assist - Not Operating Correctly

    Hi Everyone,

I am a new XR owner. The Gear Shift Assist does not not always shift smoothly or will not shift into next gear.

I have made sure that I have a constant throttle at the point of shifting, but still experience erratic shifting performance. The bike is a 2022 model with 911 Km.

    Any ideas?

Take it back to your dealer, you will need to for the 1000km service anyway.

I found following the 600 miles service the Gear assist works perfectly. You just need to be further up the rev range. Operates some as in both directions.

I had an '18 XR and it would not consistently speed shift smoothly until I did a stage 2 Brentune flash, then it was perfection.  I now have a '16 and the quick shifter is lumpy at best, I just don't want to shell out for another BT.
You definitely need to have the rpm's above 6-7000, as stated above.  Don't even bother trying to use it before the 600 mile service and Rev limiter increase.

Quickshift should work nicely at any rpm above ~2500rpm. Mine is super slick at any rpm, even as low as 2000rpm, up or down.

Have you had the "shift adaptions" done?? Makes a huge difference.

You need a diagnostic tool, I have a GS-911.  You can reset your transmission using "adaptations" menu, I will try it.  Should help the quick  shift as well, I guess.

    Motoscan can do it also.

As I understand it.....It's basically a quick shift mechanism "learn" feature. Essentially a recalibration of the quick shift system. It recalibrates the upshift cut timings and the downshift "auto blip" settings.
