Question on Bren Tune Stage 1 for Gen 2 XR

    Hey All,

I am considering getting the Bren Tune Stage 1 for my 2021 Gen 2 XR.  For those of you who have bought it, did it fix the issue where you recieve zero throttle response for the first 20% of the throttle turn?  This would be my reason for getting it.  The low RPM fueling and high rev cold start being fixed would be nice, but I don't care too much about that.  More power is cool, but this thing doesn't need any more.  A bump in torque would be cool though!

I put a Akropovic header on my 2021 a few weeks ago and the additional tourque is very obvious.I didn't notice and negatives with the low end fueling that wasn't already present before the header was installed. The bike simply has more midrange than before.I have no idea what the A/F looks like at this point. The throttle is soft but I haven't notice it not responding for the first 20% you might have something else going on.My Bretune stage1 should arrive today it should take a day or so for them to send me my map.I will follow-up and let you know my thoughts when its done.

I have just read the ECU out and sent it to Bren today, hope to get it back before Christmas. Bike is a box stock Gen2 2022 model, apart from an Arrow end can and I’m going for a Stg2 with inlet flapper and exhaust valve held open via software.  Hoping to get the low throttle improved and remove the annoying high reving startup and erratic tick over.

I do not have any good news about the Bren Tune for the Gen 2 XR. Got the BT Stage 1 for my 2021 Sport XR. The stalling issue got severe (8-10 time in less than 20 min.). I adjusted my throttle with the 911 WiFi. It didn't make any difference. BT sent me a second map. The stalling was still an big issue and now the bike was backfiring in every gear. Peak backfire was from 4 to 5K. Just the range I am always going to be riding. Do not like backfiring!!

The good news was Bren Tune took back their hand held unit/ mod and refunded my funds.

I really liked the BT Mod. Could not tolerate the stalling. Hope you guys have better luck.

Maybe they have changed the BT Tune since this Summer???

    Best,

I have to ask, why does bren tuning offer an IAT relocate feature? I thought it had been proven umpteen times to not work with interaction of the O2 sensors and short/long trims. And if it could work, you simply offset the value in the software provided rather then moving hardware? I have my doubts. If you look up BT on google streetview it seems to be japanese automotive. Anyway the module is the MyGenius provided by Dimsport, one of the only two? worldwide companies providig tuning tools, and both Italian. The other one is Alientech. I think BT buys a standard tuning of Dimsport  and has really no clue about mororcycle tuning.
Too bad this MuGenius is not availavable from others

OK got the map flashed (stage1) to the bike and I reset the ecu adaptations. The idle issue has been resolved the bike fires to life and idles steadily no more lean poping and stumbling. The throttle has been improved it almost feels like a cable actuated throttle yes its that good now..The bike pulls strongly from a stop no more hesitation and lazy power delivery. The quick shifter is much improved it wasn't bad before but its much smoother and quicker now.The low end fueling has been fixed no more low speed surging and bucking. The bike pulls smoothly from 2000 rpm to the limiter. The extra tq early on in the rev range is awsome it actually feels like liter class bike now. I won't get into how much more power it makes I haven't and won't put the bike on a dyno but yes its faster for sure but more importantly for me its a far more enjoyable bike now.AIl I need to do now is to replace that vinyl  covered nut cracker BMW calls a seat.

I got about the same results on my  2018 with thier stage 2 flash...the bike runs very well..nothing earth shattering but way better than stock.
I think it was money well spent.

I have BT flask on my 16, and I am also really happy with it. I am interested in what you base this on. And I think BT is next door to the shitty looking Automotive place in the the big blue building.
