Hey Guys, I just happened to bring a nice like new 2016 S1000XR with 2200 miles home the other day. I just turned 60 in Nov , still like to haul ass but some "sport touring" may be in order going forward. I still have a 08 gixer track bike for an occasion trackday and my trusty 07 Tuono for some street flogging as well. I'm pretty much a forum slacker but figure what the heck. Right now its a little wet and chilly but looking forward to the weekend for the first ride on this beast.
This bike is amazing with all the tech , so I'm sure I'll have some questions along the way.
Thanks for being there,
Jay

Welcome!
You'll definately enjoy the S1000XR, it's an amazing bike combining both supersport performance and touring abilities. I'm also a previous owner of a Tuono Factory and a GSXR 07!
The gixxer was a bit crumped for my built so I did a handlebar conversion. Nice and strong motor, average brakes (common on older Suzukis), didn't keep it for long though. I have a soft spot for the Apes, had 3 of them (and a Caponord 1000) as well, I have fond memories of them but I rode one recently and I'm sure it's not for me anymore. Maybe one day I'll get a factory again just to look at it

to the clan..
62 years young in November and I'm with you, it's still good to "haul ass" helemet on, 40 years off the mental age, only wish it worked for the body as well..
Hence the s1000xr, comfortable and capable of being mad when required..
Had a 2004 Tuono and a 2009 Gen2 awesome bikes, clocked up over 40k miles on them.. Check out my user name, the AF1 is the aprilia forum run by those nice chaps in Huston, Texas.
