Has anyone installed one of these. I want to get one, but twisted is suggesting the plug and play harness when it should not need one. Does it mount in standard spot without modification?

I've just mounted one, I'm not near the bike so can't take photos but I can tomorrow and post so you can see how and where It's mounted. I used the Hex ezcan for wiring so can't help with that side of things. I do have one fitted to my tiger, from the battery with a relay and using the OE wiring for the horn button, so I know it can be done both ways.  :028:

It mounts in same location as std horn and plug and play harness makes it easy as BMW connector to horn is different so saves having to cut and fit your own spade connectors

Agree completely, I use the "plug and play harness" just in case the next owner or BMW dealer want is 100% as shipped:-)  Peter

I had the regular Soundbomb on my Multistrada and it was loud. I had the bike-specific bracket and harness but the bracket was never really secure and fell off the bike. I read some reviews on Amazon about the mini and some said it wasn't any louder than their stock BMW horn. When I had my K1600, some of the members installed the horn from a BMW 5 series which they said was much louder, mounted on same bracket as the stock horn, and used same wire lugs....and it was $10! I'm not sure if it would work for the XR but might be worth investigating

I have the mini SoundBomb fitted on the standard bracket using the plug and play harness. It fits well and works well. It is a deeper tone than the standard BMW offering and is also lots louder.
