Gen2 Bren Tune and Other Mods

Done a few mods over Christmas. OEM Carbon front and rear mudguards, OEM radiator and oil cooler cover, Puig dark tint screen, Arrow end can and dropped a Bren Stg2 tune in:

Not sure if this is well known or not, but if you have put a Bren tune in your Gen1 using the Flasher+, if you put your original file back into the bike then you can unlock the Flasher+ and transfer it to another bike and don’t need to repurchase one. I sent mine to Motobull, the UK/European Bren dealer who unlocked mine for me. You can then just pay for the tune.

    Experience:

Bottom end and throttle response is now as good or better to my Gen1 with the Bren tune. I went out for a slow ride in the Essex countryside and just stayed in top gear, slow hairpins, around roundabouts, up hills under 30mph and accelerating past cars now all a breeze and you don’t need to “pre-load” the throttle. Sooo smooth. Power just feels linear now from 2,000 rpm upwards.
High start up tick over has gone - part of Euro5 on these bike to get the cat quickly up to temperature. Tick over is not so erratic and just settles straight down.
Sounds much nicer - intake and exhaust flaps/valves open up early when accelerating, not noisy but no longer whisper quite either.

And absolutely no hint of stalling (as mentioned elsewhere) but mine never stalled before anyway.

Pls note - there are pages of what is the best way of tuning, this is just my preference and as I had the Flasher+ and good previous experience of Bren I went this way. Pay your money and make your choice.

    Belco,

Did you experience any backfiring with the Bren Stage 2 tune for the Gen 2 XR??

Thanks for the report! The Brentune is tempting.

No, nothing really, but I have standard downpipes, not sure if that makes any difference. No downside at all so far  :152:

I actually miss the pops you used to get in Dynamic mode on Gen1's.
