Hello everyone new member here my name is Mike I'm from the South of England and hopefully will be picking up my used xr in the next couple of days
Shame about the freezing weather I guess I'll just have to sit in the garage and just stare at the bike haha OR tinker with a few bits and make it ready for the spring weather.

Welcome!
Did you buy privately or from a dealer?
How much have you ridden one - Do you know what to expect, or is it going to be a voyage of discovery for you?
Roll on - the good weather !

af1-windy what tinkering have you done? I'm in the process of getting a sat nav all sorted they are serious money so looking at used as well .
Mareng1 I bought it from a dealer I always feel safer doing that plus they do all the checks and warranty on the bike.
I took it out last weekend for a test ride he gave me no timescale so i disappeared for 2 1/2 hours
. I've ridden a few upright sports tourers/ adventure bikes like the multi before but this is a different league it's basically a arm chair strapped to a rocket absolutely loved it. I'm coming from a z1000sx and the xr feels so much more planted even on the slightly damp roads I got on the sx on the way home and felt so uncomfortable.
I've been looking at the forum this week and seeing what people have changed for the better so I have a little shopping list being produced.

I got really luck with a Satnav. I was just about to tap in to the wire and replace with the TomTom stuff I had. Then, went to Wales for a few days for my birthday and as luck would have it there was a guy on gumtree just an hour away selling a brand new BMW Nav6 for £300, used the unit once then swapped his bike for a bike with built in satnav, everything else in the box was still in the original wrapping.
I had some auxiliary LED's laying around so fitted the up front using a Hex ezcan. Full givi luggage rack and pannier brackets. Bike only came with a back box which I sold.
I have the givi weightless panniers and top box from my Tiger, which I really like and they suit the xr too so that's a bonus.
That's it... for now..

A few upgrades then
you got very lucky with the sat nav people want stupid money for them even the nav 5.
I'll look into the soundbomb always good to have a loud horn haha.
I think the standard exhaust has been the only one that I can say ive not thought about changing for sound as it sounds good to me the style is OK not as ugly as the z1000sx standard exhausts that I changed straight away. Have you changed yours?

No, sounds OK and looks good, compared to a lot of other bikes, so I'll spend my $$$$'s elsewhere.. Chunnel Tickets and foreign Hotels.. now I can see, be seen and heard..
