Hi - I am a new member, having just taken receipt of my first S1000XR. I am making  the transition from a 2006 K1200s; a bike a truly love, but the time has come to sell it. I look forward to reading up on some of the topics over the coming months. For example seat height, my bike has come with the lower seat (20mm lower), but i seem still to be on my tip toes. Whilst it doesn't feel to uncomfortable ( I haven't taken her out yet) I am hoping it is something I get used to. I do have once question for the members - Mine is a 2019 model and looking at accessories for example top box and they reference K49 and K69. I am assuming that my July 2019 model is a K49, is that correct?

    Many Thanks, Mark

    Welcome !   :400:

I bought my 2016, but never rode it before I had purchased a S/H low seat.   Used it for around 4 years before buying an HP (std height) seat - which didn't seem much higher, due to what I think is the slightly rounder profile at the front.

Anyway - Double check that you do indeed have a 'low' seat (using part number) as I have at  most 30" inseam, and was flat-foot using my low seat.

For topbox - I'd recommend getting a GIVI adaptor plate and whatever GIVI box suits your needs.   Plenty of good condition ones on the forums and Ebay (or someone like Sportsbikeshop, who appear to be best prices)

    Enjoy the bike!

Thank you for the response. I will indeed check my seat by the part number. In terms of top box, I dropped Sportsbike an email for a price last week.

    Thanks Again
