Author Exhaust headers glowing red  (Read 1224 times)

    Exhaust headers glowing red

    This may or may not be an issue ....... thought I'd ask and check.

    After cleaning the bike yesterday I started it up and noticed the exhaust headers glowing red. I will say this was only during the cold start/high rev thing it does when it's cold. The headers seemed to settle back to "normal" once the high idle speed dropped to the regular idle speed.

    So ...... normal or otherwise ?

    lt's a Gen-2 thing...Gen-1's don't do it.

    Yes, same on my gen 2. High start up rpm’s probably combined with retarded ignition timing in order to warm up the CAT’s as quickly as possible
