New XR ordered today!
on:

This morning I took the XR for a test ride, after reading up on the bike and watching countless YouTube vlogs, I felt as though I already had a grasp of how good the bike was without even riding it. I was wrong! After an hour on the bike I was sold, it handles so well and I couldn't believe how light it felt. I was originally looking at the R, but I'm 6'3 and the XR seems so much better suited to my height and build.
The bike does have vibes; I could feel it in the bars, pegs and seat. However, it's not a massive deal to me, and something I can certainly live with considering how great the bike is in every other way. I will probably fit the heavier bar ends, but does anyone have any tips for nullifying the vibes in the pegs and seat?
I managed to agree a very good deal and part ex with my dealer, and I should have the bike (Red!) in the next 10days or so!

No cures but........ I ride with on the balls of my feet, no vibrations at all, if I push my feet forward so the peg rests almost against my heel then I get them, thankfully years ago on a Ron Haslam race school day I was told to ride with feet forward to prevent the toes of my boot catching the ground when cornering.
I get vibrations in the seat when I wear my bike jeans but not my Alpinestars leathers, I guess they insulate against it, as I said not cures but no doubt i can't feel them when riding as described.
Also to fyi, the HVMP bar ends essentially removed all handlebar vibrations, genuinely a perfect ride now which is great

Thanks for the reply, PJP. Coincidentally I was wearing my bike jeans as well today so maybe when I have my leathers on, it will be less obvious in the seat area? Is there much difference between the HVMP and the Evotech bar ends?

Cheers Rich. Very nice
How much did the full exhaust system cost (including fitting), if you don't mind me asking? I bet it sounds great, I was shocked at how nice the stock can sounded!

I went for HVMP because the Evotech seemed to be in two pieces, one that sat inside the hand guard and one outside and I wanted the appearance to be spot on. For sure the HVMP ends cost a lot more due to postage and duty +£50 approx but I would do it again as they look great and more to the point do the job.

I found that if you grip the bars tightly, the vibs appear to be worst.

I didn't find the bars too bad, it was more in the pegs and seat. PJP mentioned that he felt the seat vibes only when wearing biker jeans (which I was), plus I had my rev'it casual biker boots on rather than my normal boots. I'm hoping that the book vibes will be less obvious when I'm wearing leathers and boots. Even if that's not the case, I'm not overly concerned as the bike is so good in so many other ways. I just need to watch my spending now, I've already started buying accessories and my wish list is growing!

I can't remember, maybe £1200, but so worth it for the looks and the sound. It seems to run a bit better as well!
