Met up with Ant at Squires café for ride out.
Ant hadn't ridden the roads I took him on, whereas, I've done the route many, many times. It's a route I like to use if I have a new (to me) bike or I've made tweaks to the suspension or change the gearing etc. respect to Ant for keeping up on unfamiliar roads..
One section in particular is flat, without hedge rows, trees obscuring the view ahead, and it has very light traffic, the occasional car can be seen coming in plenty of time to adjust your line, otherwise it's as close to race track lines as you'll get.
Left hand 90 degree bends taken from far right to apex to far right again. A good selection of sweepers, tight bends and a couple of very deceiving bends, one in particular, a left hander, you can see the line out and it looks fast but if you get sucked in a 80% of your limit you'd be in trouble because just before the line out the road comes in at you, difficult to explain but fun and scary at the same time..
I think it's about 90 miles there and back from Squires, with a few small villages to get through and a few straights but mostly it's quite twisty. Not much point doing a circular route as the roads aren't that good so we turned back and headed to Squires for a much needed Coffee.. Probably out for 4 hours, great ride and with a change in suspension setting (thanks Ant) my bike is now cornering like it's on rails.
Need another run though cos I still have 5mm of rear tyre not being used.. a complete waste of money..
Hope you all managed a ride out..

Cheers once again for the fun day out, massively recommend this route to any locals. Curious what it's like on a nice summer day with no wind and hot tarmac, but either way will be out there in the future.

I sent Ant a link from Google maps, he's more tech savvy than I am so maybe he can post a link.

The route is too short (47miles) to bother riding any great distance to get to it, it's more of a local thing and even then it doesn't get that busy.
Squires is a good place to start and meet, there's a fuel satiation with MacDonald's and I think a Subway part way round, more importantly, a toilet, for those of us over 60

I’ve been watching a lot of 44 teeth videos lately, what is deal with you UK guys seem to have with McDonald’s ?
The washroom thing seems to be an issue here as well (I’m 58) 😊

UK McDonalds is vastly superior to any other McDonalds I've tried yet. Chicken is actually made of chicken, burger patties and bread is not dried out, chips are sufficiently greasy but not soggy, it's just the best. Honestly for the price, it's the cheapest and best meal you can have on the go. Never turn down a Triple Cheeseburger for £2.19

I'm not a huge MacDonald's fan but they are everywhere and handy for a snack and a pee
and their wraps are pretty decent.
This one just happens to be on the route with a fuel station/shop so it was worth a mention..
