How big of a job is it to swap the headers out? I'm pretty competent and have a decent tool kit....   :169:

It was a pretty standard 2hr job, not hard at all just faffy and you have to be careful of the rad , a thick piece of cardboard will save you a lot of headache, you also need a 12 point 12mm socket for the flange nuts, rest is regular torx in a few different sizes, I'd recommend a deep socket + a 2 inch or so extension on a swivel for easiest access. Also soaking the O2s in a bit of wd40 or some other penetrant will help them come out, loosen them before you take the exhaust off if you can get at them, if not its not a massive deal taking them off after the fact.

Thanks for the reply Ant.. Gonna have a good look at my finances and see if I can afford to splash out  :164:

Do you need a fancy socket for the O2 sensor?  :084:

No just a quality open ended spanner, 17 or 19mm can't recall.

If i can recommend I'd only replace it if you can tune it too either direct to ECU or some fuelling module, there are gains even without a tune but you want a tune for the full experience

They have instructions on both the Arrow site and Akrapovic site on how to change headers. Also, Cuban Rider made a video of how to do the swap. I watched the video a couple of times and downloaded both sets of instructions and read them, and as Antares says, its not too bad. Just break it down into lots of little task ie take off the bodywork, cuppa, remove the end can, cuppa, remove the servo cables, cuppa etc, don't look at it as one big job as that seems more daunting.   :018:

Only real tips are a 12 point socket and a bit of patience for the flange nuts, and put the main stand up before you try to completely remove the exhaust as it won't come off with the stand down. I put it on the side stand and removed it from the brake pedal side and all was good, but a paddock stand would work as well.

Cheers for the info, I'll do some reading and watching before I hit the button on a new system..

Just one thing about your post..  :164: I'll need to add at least 30 minutes to the job, I'm over 60 so it'll be job, coffee, pee, job coffee pee and so on..  :034:  :008:

Little thing to look out for - when I put my Black Widow headers on and reassembled I as making sure everything was aligned, tightened everything up, put everything back together, job finished and then realised one side of the exhaust pipes was pulling tight on the bottom of the sump fin  :024: had to do the whole exercise again but halved the time.

Thanks for the extra tips, very helpful...this forum never disappoints.
I pulled the trigger yesterday after I posted this and much to my surprise I got a shipping notification that it will be in NJ, USA tomorrow! Great customer service by the BW team.

I now know what I am doing this weekend
