     :400: it’s not like the running in back in the day when it was a lot more restrictive, if I remember correctly you can still thrash it but the rev limiter is restricted til 500 mile service ?

    Colin, sincerely, take that back, I almost went over the handlebars on an S1000R when the rev limiter kicks in and suddenly shuts off all power in 2nd gear at 9000rpm... Right as the power starts surging...

    Yea but they didn't adjust anything else, just a hard shutoff at 9000 rpm... They didn't make it lose guts, or anything, it's literally about to ramp into full power mode, starting to lift the front wheel, and then *BAM* essentially stalls the bike... Just for clarity it was a demo bike that a mate neglected to mention hadn't been run in yet  :745:
