Servicing Costs
on: April 10, 2022, 05:32:58 PM
Hi, Not posted much on here, but do enjoy reading the other regular posts.
Just wondering if I really am being ripped off by my local BMW main dealer in Peterborough (obviously not allowed to mention the name).
Recently had 6000 mile service on my 2018 XR Triple Black, MOT and 2 x new Michelin Road 5 tyres fitted, total cost £703.00!!!
I know and appreciate that BMW network is slightly more per hour on labour charges than the Japanese manufactures, but just thought this price a bit on the steep side. Anybody experienced something similar, or is this price you pay for owning a BMW?

It would help if you could separate out the cost of the tyres, including any labour charge for fitting.

On the face of it seems high to me, but a lot depends on tyre type, and putting the tyres on at BMW dealer is going to cost more than from a tyre specialist.

Tyres from a BM dealer....next time you need your haircut try the dentist.... :110:

Pair of Road 5’s £300 ish + fitting

MOT £30ish

So what’s the service cost ? £300/350

Agree...although the 6000mile service is just a glorified oil/filter change and a wipe of it's bum....why it would cost 300+ quid is beyond me.

I refuse to take my bike anywhere these days for fear of the work being done poorly or not being done at all.....and getting ripped off for the pleasure.

Just had a 6000 mile service on a gen2 at a BMW dealer in Suffolk. £235 for oil and filter change, brake fluid change, nothing to air filter as have a K&N. Plus I guess a good look round with nowt to report. 🤔🥴
Cheers,

if it is a 2018 bike having a first 6k service then there are likely to be some age related things to do. Depends if it has had annual services in the interim.

Also, is it a service at a 6000 miles or a multiple thereof?
