That is insane. Don’t think the UK is even that pricey for labour (well done on using the proper spelling of that  :001: ) I was in France recently and had some emergency work done at a Motorrad dealer and they charged €57 for an hour.

my 600 mile service was $300, which I thought was pricey, but then they charge $18 a liter for bmw oil so......................

If you're partial to getting the oil they recommend, get shell advance ultra, it only comes in 10W40 but it's almost exactly the same stuff as the expensive BMW Advantec Ultimate (naming similarity a coincidence? I think not), because in fact, shell makes that oil for BMW using the same pureplus tech, at half price

Thanks for the recommendation as going forward I will do my own oil changes.

That is extremely cheap!   My local non-franchised bike workshop charges £65/hr

You are indeed paying a premium for the oil with the BMW name attached to it...It's just renamed Shell Advance Ultra oil, which can be had for less than half that price....which is why I refuse to take my bike to a dealer or garage....they rip people off blind...and smile at you while they do it as if they're doing you a favor.
