For those who don't change their own tyres, I wondered if there might be merit in posting recommendations of best places to get tyres changed including 'ride in ride out' and loose wheels?  My last change was at a place in Kent, which is a distance away from South Essex, but I can't be the only person on the forum that always ponders the options?

tyre places come and go and this forum is not that busy compared to say Advrider or UKGser. Probably best to just ask at the point of need for your location. Although, I do have 3 chains that I can recommend who have multiple branches, some of which do ride in ride out on bikes.
https://www.protyre.co.uk/ - used the one in Gloucester recently and the one in North Rd Cardiff before it shut.
    https://www.merityre.co.uk/ - Witney branch good
https://www.maxxess.fr/ - in France, handy for those using sticky rubber. Arras & Colmar branches are good. Phone ahead (ask your hotel reception to assist) to check stock. 68 branches in France.

My usual place is in Gloucester https://www.chrismullins.co.uk/ but I check price and availability with Protyre.

Not much good for you in South Essex but to contribute to your post I’ve had excellent service from: -

S.M.D Tyres Leigh Lancashire - ride in ride out

LTS Louth Lincs - loose wheels

National Tyres Barnsley - loose wheels

Protyre deals are always by far the best, unfortunately they were the ones that broke my ABS ring a while back, they were good for it but it was 4 visits, 2x rebalancing the wheels before giving up because their balancing machine is whack... This was only Slough branch though and the one in Hawley was fine for fitting rears the one time I used them. Normally they don't offer buying tyres without fitting them at their places but you can do a little phone call judo to get them to just let you pick up the tyres, something about "sorry i need them urgently and your earliest dates not soon enough" or along those lines. They refunded me the fitting no problem and let me take my pair of Road 5s to my local trusted guy, Stewart's motorcycles in Sunbury, he is an old school motorcycle wizz, does an amazing job everytime i had to go to him, although he does ask to be paid fairly too.

I live just 1.8 miles from https://www.biketyresleeds.com their prices aren't too bad and they fit free to loose wheels if you buy tyres from them.

Easy for me, I just pop the wheels out and in to the car. Pretty sure you can borrow a stand on their site and remove your wheels yourself but I'd check first if you're heading over.  :084:

Antares, if you need tyres and they have a deal you can use my garage to take your wheels out and then we could pop up the road and have them fit the tyres, offer open to anyone on this site, providing I'm around on the day to pop over to the tyre place in the car.. :028:
