    Vibrating mirror glasses

The glasses in both my mirrors are now vibrating and it is a distraction. I'm out of warranty as well.
Anyone know an smart, invisible way of sorting it?
Smearing clear silicon round the outside of the mirror could work, but might be messy.
I am assuming there is no easy way into the casing to get behind the glass. Anyone tried drilling a small hole in the casing and filling the lot with silicon?

Samething happened to me, mirror glass came loose all of a sudden on the motorway and i thought my engine just shat itself, I just went around the edge with a thin layer of superglue, job done. They are cheap chinese mirrors anyway, same on all BMWs, cost like 40-50 quid for a pair, or just replace them with whatever if it bothers you.

If it was me, in fact I might do it as a precaution anyway, I'd spend some time with masking tape, leaving about 3mm on the housing and 3mm on the mirror, use the small hole in the nozzle with some clear silicon, run my finger around it and take off the tape.. Should leave a nice neat bead of clear silicon.  :084:

i noticed one of my mirrors just starting to rattle. Having read Antares post when his first went i knew to check the mirrors as a first stop and bingo it was rattling.  Cheers you saved me a lot of heartache Antares. I think I'll try the silicon bead solution from windy.

there already is a hole on the bottom (to drip the water out), however, my advice is don't do it. I thought making mirrors heavier would help with vibrations and rattle.
vibrations are only marginally better so that was a fail, mirrors don't rattle so that's a win, the bike is heavier that's fail, but, seems like water, dirt moisture whatever it is, created dirty rust looking like marks on the edge of the glass and that's not pretty - FAIL!

The issue with rattling is wearher temperature dependant, as plastic expands @ different rate to glass.
