Hello! Only 450 miles into my new Gen 2....Fab! - An observation, the Clutch feels a little grabby on/off rather than being easily able to slip it when pulling away, slow speed manoeuvres. I've checked the cable etc and all in spec. I wondered if it will "bed" in with a few more miles or it's something to do with the anti shudder thingummy.
It's certainly not a massive issues just curious to hear your thought,  it will be in for 1st service in a couple of weeks will mention it then also.
    Cheers

They don't have an "anti shudder" thingummy. They do have a slipper type clutch though. But this shouldn't have any influence on the clutch take-up.

The clutch should be smooth, might pay to get your dealer to check it out at your first service, cable may be sticking or something silly. Although a totally different engine, my Gen-1 has 55k km on it and the original clutch is as good as the day I rode it out of the showroom.

Mine does it sometimes, but only and literarily on a 1st clutch relase/bite after I start the engine, shift into 1st and get the bike moving. It acts like an on off switch, makes the bike jump. After that 1st bite, all the others are fine - slipping as they should.
I thought it might be due to high revs on start up, so I waited a couple of times for revs to drop to normal, but it still does the same.

I noticed this with mine a lot when it was new as well.

I've either become accustomed to it, or it has mostly just gone away. Sometimes when the engine is cold I do wonder if something aint right but it's not bad enough that I've done anything about it.

Bike now has just over 10,000kms on it.

It shouldn't affect clutch uptake but it's worth pointing out that the slipper clutch on the XR uses a LOT finer teeth than most japanese slippers you see out there and it's very easy to get a couple clicks through the lever with even a little bit of backdrive happening.
