gen 2, after removing the passenger's grab handles, the gap left is the worst when it comes to cleaning the bike with hose water.. couldnt find anything that fills the gap, is there anything out there or should I just continue with my plans to make a thin plastic cover over the entire section of the battery, wires etc.  ?

Hmm. Surprized there are no responses. I removed the Grab Handle (equipped for top box) because I will never use a top box and it looks kinda dorky with it. I just replaced it with the OEM Grab Handle without the provision for a top box. I need the handle for putting the bike on the center stand and moving the bike around in my garage.

I know. It's the four square gaps left after you remove the handle. In between the seat and the rear plastic covers.

I did it to my K69 and it does look kinda wrong without a handle. That's why i just ordered the handle without the top case support.

are you saying you removed the K69 magnesium alloy panniers support? Why?

Oh no, looks like you removed the pannier support lol. You can just unscrew the grab handle on top. Remove the seat to reveal the screws and you need T25 torx for the seat fairings so you can lift the grab handle…

I installed Shad 3P luggage racks and 36 liter panniers.  Afterwards I noticed I couldn't remove the luggage due to the latches bumping into the grab handles...ugh.  So I removed the grab handles and top case rack.  I ride a 2021 and I like the new look.  I will be looking for a way to cover the holes you've mentioned.  Be sure to post when you've found a remedy.  I'll do the same when I come up with one.

Interestingly, I can use Shad SH36 with 3P on K69 but I have to remove the grab handles if I need the top loading of the Shad Pannier SH23

I suppose it’s a bit of a trade off not having to pay the exorbitant prices for the factory bits.  I do like the shad luggage. I posted some pics of my bike with Shad luggage installed in photo gallery.
