Evotech Radiator Guard fitting issues

Hi all
I opted for the Evotech radiator and oil guard and attempted to fit earlier today. I don’t think I’ll be a mechanic any time soon. After figured out how to release the black plastic pins, I got to remove the screws in the oil component.
When trying to fit the radiator guard following the instructions on the Evotech site it asks you to hook the top of the guard over the rad. However, on top of the rad there is additional plastic trim stopping the rad guard from hooking over. I’m not keen to remove items if not covered in the instructions so I stopped and put everything back together.
I have a 2019 plate s1000xr, I’m wondering if I’ve been sent the later kit by mistake.

Any suggestions? I’ll pop some images up later.

I bought the GIVI guards so I can't comment on the Evotech. Just remember that Youtube is your friend :)
Even with the GIVI, it took a little coaxing to get it to fit right

I'm attaching some pics of my radiator with ep rad guards. You don't have to remove anything, the rad guard hooks on top of the plastic trim and is secured with the bolts that keep water and oil rads together.

Hi Fitz. I just installed mine tonight. Th plastic tab that is vertical is what you hook to guard to. It doesn't actually go behind the radiator like you think. I hope that helps

These guys are right. It's also a juggle to get everything to line up when fastening. Stick with it. Youtube clip does help.

The only thing that would have made it easier for me would be a lift table

Hi all
Thanks for the replies. I did speak with Garry at Evotech and he confirmed the same comments you have given. Appreciate the feedback.
I'll go again this weekend, more patience, less hangover will hopefully equal success.
Cheers

Appreciate all the help offered on here. Had another go today and have fitted them both.
I think apart from being a bit tentative I was also being too gentle.
All sorted, thanks all
