Had my 2020 bike in for it’s 6k mile service last week, dealer claimed 3-4 hours for a firmware update so I skipped it. Anyone else had this done and can confirm whether it really takes that long?

Takes no more than 10mins to flash the ECU once plugged in. Someone is having a lend. TFT takes forever is the interweb is poorly in the area.

When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather....not screaming like the passengers in his car..!

My mate's just had his GS done (I think it was the display update) and that took about three hours. Might be the same thing?

It would depend on which system is being updated. ECU is fast, TFT takes a couple of hours.

I understand it also depends on the dealers broadband speed...  Did not ask any further as they are in the middle of nowhere and I've been there and done that with internet speed:-) Peter

Amazing they are looking to charge for the time taken to do install the upgrade. Might take 3 hours but nobody surely has to sit with the bike for that length of time. Plug in come back later, not exactly hands on.
    Taking the p**s as usual.

I think firmware updates are for free, at least for me that was the case.  They just need the bike for that amount of time, I have skipped updates before simply as I did not want to hang around for that long!  Peter
