Hello All

Joined today. I’m looking to research the model more before I choose.

I’m looking to buy a used SE Sport.

I’ve seen one that is ‘factory lowered by 30mm’.
Where on the forum is the best place or post my question(s)? I would like to see if it’s possible to put it back to standard height.

It's possible but not practical as need to change rear shock, seat and forks. The bike is very tall in standard height trim. You can get some height and comfort back by just changing the seat to HP high.

I’m 5’ 10” with true inside leg of 33” (31” for trousers)

I sat on one in the showroom and it felt OK

Do you think I’d be OK for the standard setup?

Plenty-long enough legs for the standard bike.

Same size as me and I ride a standard gen 1 all ok.

The low model with a std or high seat would feel no different when riding to the std height bike.

I'm 5'7" on a good day, downhill,  with the wind. 30 inch inseam.  I ride a 2018 standard height. I make it work.  But then again I've always been short  so if I wanted to ride anything but a snoozer...I had to overcome.  Look up Jocelyn Snow. We should all be embarrassed.

Surly you’d have more knee bend with a lower seat? It’s important to me as I’ve got dodgy knees and can’t bend them as much as I used to. Old age catching up with me 😞
