    Dead battery again?

Went to start my 2016XR and nothing! Blank screen. I put the charger on and 30 minutes later fired right up. So I  assume the battery is dead. This is the second one. First one dead after 2 years. I guess I should try a lithium for the next one.

My 1st lasted 15months, the second (larger & better quality) lasted 2 1/2 years.

    Maybe I'm hard on batteries?

I'm not sure you have done enough to definitely blame the battery, but getting a new Lithium won't be money wasted.

Interesting, mine has the alarm too and i keep it on, + GPS, it's an early 2015 model still with original battery until i replaced it about a year ago with a Lithium battery purely as I needed a new battery in my Kawasaki and it was the same size as the BMW so I decided to upgrade the BMW to lithium and migrated the BM's into the Kawi, where it still works to this day

I've had a similar experience with my bike. No issues at all with besides once when I killed it by leaving the key on. I can recall putting a battery tender on it once besides that. It cranks the bike with no problems even after weeks of not riding. I think BMW put viagra in the batteries on our old XRs.
