    Lowering and re calibration
    on: June 28, 2022, 07:14:24 am

Hey guys. This past weekend I put the Soupys lowering link on my 2018 S1000XR. And then i attempted to re calibrate the suspension. I am using Motoscan app and OBD Link LX. I also have purchased professional subscription on the Motoscan app. And I can't get the suspension to re calibrate. I am getting a message on the app when i select ESA suspension, at the bottom it says No connection to control unit. But i can select say instrument cluster or ABS and i can see these. I can view live data. So my questions are this.  1, has anyone personally, actually used Motoscan for this procedure? Or do I have to use a 911? I thought maybe I needed to upgrade my subscription, I now have the Ultimate subscription on Motoscan and am still getting the same No connection to control unit message.  I watched some utube video with a guy resetting the gs with this app, can we not do this for the XR? Any help would be much appreciated. I'm so frustrated  :232:

I recently did the Soupy's on my 2016 and got the exact same message with Motoscan.

I emailed them and they said basically (and I wish I kept the response) the app doesn't calibrate for the XR. I don't know though if it's the same for the gen 2's.

I don't feel any difference suspension wise so I'm not worried about it.

Can you post up the response? I'm curious if you get a better explanation than I did.

    First answer from Motoscan
    Hello,

If you can not connect to ESA, then your bike have a newer genaration of the ESA and it is the SAF control unit.

    Best Regards

So I then followed up and emailed them again. I asked if they were saying the re calibration was in the SAF (Seim Active suspension) tab? I did this because I saw no re calibrate function. Their answer was this.

The App has no calibration for SAF.

So to recalibrate the "newer" bikes it is either a dealer or the gs911. Well I hope the 911 will work, I haven't actually tried it.  :084:

Sounds like we're out of luck.

    Thanks for the update.

The GS-911 works fine on a 2018 , I just replaced my suspension  a week ago and re calibrated it with no problems
