    Oil leak after dealer service

I am on a U.S cross country trip and had the 12k service done at a dealership since it is under the maintenance plan.  Noticed a small oil spot after parking for the night at the hotel and it looks like it is coming from behind what I believe is the rear of the oil pan.

I don't have a place to pull everything apart to take a look and plan on taking it to a dealer.  I checked the sight glass and the oil is overfilled.  I don't believe that overfilling it will cause a leak, but want an opinion from someone that knows more about this engine than I do.  The bike is a 2021 with almost 17k miles.  Opinions/thoughts?

There's a "tell tale" weep hole in the sump for the combined oil pump/water pump drain...it may be coming from there, have you stuck your head under to have a look..?? Some have also reported having "porous" sumps and have had them replaced under warranty....neither of them are an easy job though as the exhaust headers need to be removed to allow sump removal.

Might not be overfilled, pretty sure gen 2 is the same but oil check procedure is to check just after turning the engine off.

Ok, after cleaning the area up, it is just coolant.  Probably going to just keep going and checking the coolant level at fuel stops.  I really don't want to skip the blue ridge parkway.

Good luck.  Yes don't miss the parkway! I live right off it in Virginia.  If you have any issues and need anything shoot me a PM.

Thanks!  The parkway was supposed to be the big finish of this trip. The coolant is right in the center of the min/max level.  A bit worried about it, but I have about 8 hours of interstate tomorrow.  If it gets much worse, I will be stopping to have it looked at.

Ok...seems your water pump is leaking....Gen-1's often do the same but the water pump on them is an easy change...not so with the Gen-2. Good luck.

Just a followup:  Dealer replaced the water pump, foot pegs, connected ride cradle and a screw that disappeared from the aux lighting switch all under warranty.
