    Gen 2 brake lights

Not sure if this is common knowledge but....
Had condensation in one of the rear lights, due for service so thought I'd get it sorted then. Got a message on the dash to say that the brake light had failed and get it fixed. I made the foolish assumption that only one would fail in this situation, however both brake lights stopped working. Indicators worked normally.
I assumed that the seperate brake lights would be on separate canbus channels, to give some redundancy, but that is not the case.

Moral of the story is if you get condensation in your lights get them replaced immediately.
    Regards
    Scotti

    Good to know! :028:

It's one of the few things I'm not impressed with on the Gen2 the rear lights I’m just not a fan,  I think that people could miss the brake light when the indicator is on.
For me the indicator arrow goes the wrong way as well it could point out to the outside of the light and not inward.
After over thirty + years behind the bars, there's still lots to do and see.

from what my mates are saying when following me it is more likely that people will miss the rear indicators when I'm braking. I'm thinking about fitting an extra set of rear indicators but haven't worked it out yet.

    Hamma996,

What did you tap into to get the brake & turn signals to work. I want to add an Admore brake/ turn signal unit but, the lines to the rear brake assembly are LED. Taping into them did not work for me. Any photo's would be appreciated. Best, Doc

I'm not sure how the T3's fit or if the front indicators are the same for the Gen2 as they are for the Gen1 but this is where I mounted my lower lights just using a longer bolt..

Ezcan configured to switch of the lights when I indicate..  :028:

Upper lights are fitted using a xr specific bracket

Might not help on a Gen2 but could give you some fresh ideas.. and it gets my post count up..  :034: :008:

I fitted the front T3 on the hand gaurdes ,the run as DRL and turn Amber when indicating. For the brake the T3 s run red and flash Amber with indicating . They are super bright that's why I like denali and the ezcan or cansmart makes this option possible and without causing any errors with the bike
