    S1000XR from Belgium

    Hi all!

I just got my S1000XR delivered, so I figured it was time for a short introduction! I got a good deal on a 2nd hand one in Ice Grey, with a bunch of options and only 11k km's on the road. It can barely be distinguished from new, the previous owner must have treated her well :)

I've been riding a Ducati Hypermotard 950SP for the past 2 years, so it's quite a switch. Although it was a fun bike (certainly in twisties), I missed versatility. Cruising sucked, travelling longer distances was barely possible. Add in the mix that the dealers in my area where incapable to say the least, it was time to start the search for a successor.

My dad has a BMW F900XR and the service his dealer delivers is extremely good, so logically that is where I started my search. I pretty much immediately fell in love with the S1000XR. It just ticked all the boxes. Sporty, comfortable, luggage options, good looking, sick engine, TFT, fuel gauge (didn't have one on the Duc  :015:),...

Started looking online and found this one. Fell in love again. Bought. Tadaaaa! As this is not a bike someone my age (22) normally buys, my friends started calling me 'daddy' now. They are jealous  :001:

    Some mods I'm planning:
      Minimalistic Rizoma blinkers
      Bar end mirrors
      Healtech ESE for the valve
Evotech protection for the axles/hand guards
Other crash bars (love these but I will probably drop this bike)

Was thinking about the Brentune as I read good things about it, but I have the 5y warranty options and don't want to void it. Will probably leave it as it is for now.

I'll take her out for a 2-3 week trip through Europe in september, that will be the great test!

    Greets!
    Andreas

    Welcome!

Finally someone my age who sees the light.  :745:

Don't bother with sport bikes, when you have this.

My riding friend group is at least twice my age too because of this bike haha

    Hi Andreas,

What’s the name of your dealer? Mine isn’t very good.

    Best regards,

    JD

BMW Meeusen in Wijnegem. It's also the closest for us, so that is convenient. I know some people that go there aswell and all are very happy.
