    Just clipped centre stand

Just did a trip over to Gap on the road from Nyons to Gap the D94 to Verclause [if you're ever over this way do the D94] we managed to clip the side stand on the right-side, obviously two up we had the side pods on and tank bag, the bike was in Pro Dynamic and in Dynamic  suspension mode, tipped into a sharpish bend and an all might bang felt like the suspension had bottomed out.

Anyway, it was not until we stopped later at an Hotel I saw there was a chuck missing off the side stand, according to the lean angle we'd hit 43% I can only guess that there was a dip in the road.

After over thirty + years behind the bars, there's still lots to do and see.

We're in Taulignan for two weeks and my god it's HOT 37c everyday so it's out early and get back by 2~3pm which is why we went over to Gap for a night in a Hotel with AC.  Got there and it rained  :008: but nice Hotel and great run back through the Les Alps some great roads and scenery.

I know it's holiday season down here but the roads are empty which has been fantastic, we've been down this way before and we know that some days you see little traffic but yesterday and today were great.

We came out of Gap on the N85 up to Corps then along D66 to Mans then onto D526 then down the D9 super twisty not fast but 2nd\ 3rd gear stuff into Die quick coffee then back to the Gite, not a massive mileage day at 140ish

I remember seeing the sign pointing right which read "Die" few years back, made me chuckle . . . . . . . was a nice section we were on at the time, heading to or from Vercours

    Gazk I’d suggest.
    B careful !
Hit that centre stand much harder & the back wheel will b off the road, & you’ll b on your arse & have wrecked an XR
I’ve taken mine off & not missing it at all
    For the same reason
Just use a paddock stand in the garage
    No more issue
Never allow your memories to become bigger than your dreams

Pretty sure he said he hit the side stand, not the center stand in his first post....although he does say "on the right side" and the thread title does say "center stand".

    Smithy.

Just as a bit more detective work is this a gen 1 or 2? was the bike in 2 up preload, is it factory lowered or full height?

I'm just asking because I've got a gnarly speedbump at the entrance of my work and I've yet to bottom anything out let alone the centrestand. I'll certainly be keeping my centre stand though as its utility is insanely outweighing any negative there could ever be.

     :430:

I did say side stand however; I guess the heat had got to me!

Just to be clear it was the centre stand and the right hand side of the stand!

Yep clipping the centre was not fun, luckily it was only a little touch down.

Lesson learnt adjust lean angle to 38% as a max two up with the pans on and full.

After over thirty + years behind the bars, there's still lots to do and see.

Yep, considering taking my centre stand off. Gen 1 low chassis and two up happens a lot.
