Cardo Packtalk Bold and choppy music on 2020 Gen2

Struggling with my Packtalk Bold and music via the TFT, it keeps cutting out making it unusable. Sometimes the TFT gets confused, so pause is play and play is pause.

Potentially related, the Bluetooth on the bike doesn’t always come on when I power it up, on occasion now I have had to shut the bike down and restart. It wasn’t always this way, software doesn’t grow bugs, hardware can go flaky though.

Anyone else had problems and can offer suggestions?

Yep I had the same issue and scrapped using the TFT as a hub. I believe it’s due to too many attachments fighting for Bluetooth and conflicting with each other. Plus I couldn’t be arsed waiting for the TFT to connect.
    Cheers,
    Charlie Spiceboy.

I have a Freecom 1 and struggled with getting it to work the first few rides.  The last couple have been problem free so I think I am on the right track.  What helped me was 1) unpairing the Cardo from my phone and only pairing it to the TFT and 2) turning on the bike/dash before powering on the Cardo.  Now I have gotten in the habit when I stop of powering off the Cardo when I power off the bike and making sure I power the bike up first before the Cardo when I get back on.  The phone doesn't seem to matter and is always on, but the order of the bike before Cardo seems to have solved my problem.  I am also using a connectedride cradle but no navigator.  Figured that might make a different too since when I was poking around it seemed a lot of people thought the navigator was introducing additional problems/complexities.

I have freecom4x and treated the TFT as "GPS". I have a rare cut but not constant.

There are software updates for the TFT that are related to bluetooth connectivity issues. If you go to the dealer and tell them that you are experiencing connectivity issues they will do the update for no charge.

re: your comment on software bugs, that would be true if nothing else changed, but i'm willing to bet that the software/OS on your phone has changed, the bluetooth software installed on your phone itself has updated, as well as the apps you use.   :)

I am considering this, but the last time I was at the dealer they said it would likely take 3-4 hours, effectively half a day, and, given their location, that just wasn't practical. I have a trip coming up so am considering trying to find time to get it into the shop.

I do not use any apps for this, like billions of other people I just have an iPhone and it works flawlessly with all my other devices. Were I to pick a culprit for poor BT programming, or using cheaper hardware, it would be one of BMW or Cardo. The TFT update suggests BMW messed up, or the combination of BMW and Cardo is broken (my ancient UClear communicator is fine, I am somewhat disappointed with the Cardo generally).

If I had a gripe right now, it is that we do not get OTA updates: when you pack enough software into the bike, and dealers are spread far apart, you really need a customer driven model for patching.

I am running 022_007_020 as well and don't have any cutting out problems.  Granted, we have different comm systems and different phones (Android on my end).  Will be curious if the TFT update fixes it.

Can you post your software version?
By the way, how long is the wait?
