Hey all, so we've been back a few days now from France which was as ever two weeks of fantastic biking as ever.
We did a load of riding in the Les Alpes round Gap down to Sisteron and up to Die some great roads, too many to name.  When I have some time, I’ll edit some of the video off the Gopro and post it.

We were down in a small village call Taulignan south of Montelimar and as we needed to be back into the UK on Saturday we did the long had slog back up to Arass on Friday.  We left at 07:45h and at the Hotel in Arass at 18:00h covering 508 miles or 818k

It did rain a hell of a lot for over two hours, but the sun came out as just as we dried out it dam well rained again just as we got into Arass. Yes, we do have wet weather kit but wet is wet!
Anyway, as I got to cleaning the bike and working out how many miles we did in the two weeks which worked out just shy of 2500 miles or 4023k, I got to thinking what’s the biggest mile\ kilometer day you’ve done on your XR.
    Without too much BS!

I’d rather be laying in the Sun like a cat, than working like a dog for the cash!

Sounds like a good time despite getting wet!

    For me:

Around this time last year I've done about 450 miles or so in a day. 6 AM start, 9PM home, from Staines to Wales, around the Brecons and back, about 250 miles motorway, 200 miles of pure welsh twisties or thereabouts. Was a long but fun day out, and it was the day to mark the XR as the ultimate road bike officially. even on some of the rougher welsh roads I got off at the end of the day without any pains or sores, just general physical exhaustion.

Sounds like you had a great time, how could you not though, 2 weeks in France. I love the place.

Longest day on the XR is 410 miles..

Most miles in a week on the XR, 2300.

Once did 3310 in 8 days on a gen1 Tuono.. will likely replicate that next year in France on the XR, if my plan goes ahead..  :084:

Recently did 524 miles from Albertville north to Bethune (for the short sprint to Callais the next morning).  It was a long day of mostly Peage (€50-worth), but with cruise control and a max of 75 mph - it wasn't too bad.

What was noticible was the great disparity in fuel costs between all the different aires on the Peage.
