    Ladies and men,

This has probably been discussed ad infinitum on this board so please bear with me. I used the search function and could not find any answer to this question - does the guard restrict the flow of air enough to make it not a good idea ? I just purchased a 2016 S1000XR with 3,000 mils on it. I ordered the guard and a fender extender but haven't put either on yet. Thoughts ?

PS It gets hot here in Arizona, I don't ride much in the summer. So far i think the highest temperature i have seen on the indicator is 210 F. Does anyone know the max ?

I have had guards on the water/oil coolers on my S1000R for 40,000 miles and my S1000XR for 36,000 miles without issue. highest temp I have seen is 218f in standing traffic , soon cools down once moving.

Answer is no, or at least nowhere near enough to affect real life performance. You know what reduces cooling performance though? A rock through your rad  :008:
