    S1000XR K69 engine temperature problem?

Hello, I have a question for you.

Is it normal that with the fan on the temperature does not go below 103C (217F)? I have been stopped for 5 minutes and the temperature stays but does not go down. Shouldn't the fan lower the temperature? It seems to be barely able to maintain the temperature.

    Thx

    Sorry for my English :P

No that is not ok. Assumming your fan is actually running and has not failed, check your coolant level. If you lost a lot of coolant the sensor might not be in the coolant anymore and read a wrong temperature

What happens if you raise the RPM a little bit? or ride down the road ..
I dont imagine they move a lot of coolant at idle or a lot of air over the radiator sitting still

Sitting still on a 30 C degree day, the temp isn't going anywhere. If it doesn't go down when you start moving at >60kph, then you have a problem. Mine is the same as yours at slow speeds.

He has a Gen-2...totally different bike from your Gen-1.

We are on the same page.. sitting still for 5 minutes is not something that I've ever done, but my bike does not really cool down unless Im over 25 MPH (40kph)
his bike is at normal temperature and  its not overheating..it's pretty much maintaining the temp with the cooling fan.

Finally I went to the technical service, they showed me a gen2 test bike and the behavior was the same as my bike. In my city it is very hot in summer (35ÂșC and 70-80% humidity).

    Thx
