Left late August from the Okanagan valley in BC to join the SC-MA group in Mexicali for their 3 Flags Classic.
Heading south we took 6 days to get there, meandering through the Volcanic Byway in Central Oregon and California. The ride north was a little more spirited, 5 days and 2500 miles, heading northeast towards Denver before heading towards Penticton, BC. All in all was an epic trip, 12 days of riding over 2 weeks and 4500 miles.
We had one incident, one in our group had the front wheel bearing seize at 75mph sending him tumbling down the highway. He is remarkably fine with only needed some stitches, the gear did its job. His Indian didnt fair so well

Epic trip, hope your mate gets bike sorted or a new one soon.
After over thirty + years behind the bars, there's still lots to do and see.

Sounds like an amazing trip! I don't have any long rides under me yet, but hoping to do something like you have done!
