Is it actually getting a full power RR engine or they are just using the shiftcam to get more torque out of these ones? Either way, hopefully the Gen 3 looks nicer and handles a little better than the Gen 2, if that's the case i'll finally have to start saving up  :008:

RR  will be 209, R slightly detuned at 206 HP. Looks wise, need to see it in person to decide.

Just  to clarify, you mean it'll be an actual M1000R not an S1000R? If so I don't know if BMW would plan to make an M1000XR, though if the stock S1000R also gets this engine then good chance of the XR getting it too.

M1000r is new branding for M package.

Just had a look and I saw the M1000XR is also trademarked, god please, yes. DO IT, BMW!!! Although realistically I think it'd make more sense to use the Shiftcam to lean into more torque for the XR platform since the peak torque on the Single R went from 9250 to 11,000 which would be silly for the XR, but I don't imagine they want it to be massively different to the single R, I could imagine a 180 bhp XR with 120 Nm torque. Now that'd be a bike...

Hell yeah, now your talking. Was thinking to do RR cam, now going to start saving for R if XR doesn't get the shift cam. Small race series here for naked bikes and hand it to the streetfigthers, so could be sweet option. Will need to see if I fit, I may be too much of a wind sale on a single R being 195cm.

Gotta wonder, Externally the S1000XR Gen 2 engine is the same as the S1000RR is it not? Could it be transplanted? Surprised noone done that with the Gen 1 XR and equivalent RR. But either way, seeing the the XR and R were always sharing a large number of components, and looking at history, we'll likely see an M1000XR next year.  Please... Only think that tempted me away from the XR was the Multi V4 Pikes peak cos it had slightly more power (albeit italian horses) and better suspension, though based on collating reviews, the XR still seems to be sportier. Now if we get an M1000XR with not only more power but better suspension, it'll be unstoppable.

I just checked the BMW USA website, the 2023 S1000R does not have the shift cam.  Of course, the website does NOT say it does not have the shift cam, but the engine HP and torque specs are the same as 2022.
