Aftermarket wheels are always the way to go because they make such a difference.

What has already been discussed on the other forum if you have ESA how are you going to alter the suspension? because it's set up for wheels of a different weight,so unless your prepared to go on a very steep learning curve you will never see the best of them there's a bit more too it than just buying light weight wheels.

If you worry that much about suspension, then tire choice and air pressure makes a difference too. I have BST's on my S1000R and they work GREAT!  With Dunlop Q3's.  No suspension "mods" needed.

I do worry about suspension because it's THE major mod that you can do to any bike even if you leave everything else stock, hardly any good comparing an RR your not exactly going to riding one up with a pile of gear or two 500 miles down the road are you.

Remember a similar thread on the 1100s site years ago where it was mentioned the Showa shocks were made in Spain made at $50 a piece the OE on the XR didn't cost much more. :003:

As for the Q3 we get the Sport Smart instead the official blurb from Dunlop is us Europeans have roundabouts and more rain but if you look on the Dymag thread on the other site you will see I have justed fitted them and then when going a distance will fit a RS 3 on the rear.
