    Front ABS sensor S1000XR

I just changed my front tire and I noticed that my front ABS sensor is "touching" (you can't get paper between it). I'm wondering if that's how they are or if anyone can provide a picture of theirs.

I checked and rechecked and I know I didn't miss anything, so I wonder if that sensor plate is bent a bit. Can someone post a picture of theirs please. Thx

I'd double check your wheel install.  Here are pics from my '21 and '18 and both have a decent gap..

    Thanks.

Damn, ok, I'll have to take it apart again, Very weird. I know for a fact that I'm not missing any of these spaces. What the hell.

I haven't had the front wheel off my gen 2 yet so no first hand experience there.  Maybe somebody will come along with some better advice.

You should have about 1.0mm. I think the max distance allowed is 1.8mm, found that somewhere on a german forum but having troubles finding it back. If you take the front wheel out do not touch the left side pinch bolts on the Gen2, just slide the axle out from the right.. The left pinch bolts set the ABS sensor distance.. The manual also tells  you not to undo these. But i thought it was like the Gen1 so had it  apart too

People already addressed the key points, i just wanna say be super careful when you put everything together again and triple check, this is how a shop bent my abs ring and ruined my abs sensor, which knocks out next to all electronic aids.

just checked mine and it's less than 1.0mm. Bike is a new Gen2, front wheeel hasn't been out yet on this one. It looks like it should be 0.8mm. Unfortunately I don't have a set of feelers here, just the one which is 1.0mm and it won't go between

Damn 1.8mm, mine is definitely not even 0.1mm. Also, I think you have to take it apart, otherwise you can't get the wheel out, since the spacer is so big and goes thru the fort and into the wheel to hold it.

I corrected my comment, think it needs to be0.8mm. The further away it is the lesser the votage output of a hall sensor is. You seem to have a problem where the left bushing was too close in (3rd party tire replacement?), and thus also giving less space to get the wheel out. Just loosen it, set it to 0.8mm or 1.0 mm, tighten it and see if that fixes the wheel in/out problem

I can confirm that left nut "spacer" was not all the way in, I had to use rubber mallet to lightly tap in the rest of the way, as you can see before and after pics.  I don't know why it doesn't go in freely all the way, so just be careful if anyone is doing their own tires or when you get your tires changed, always check this. This is definitely something to look out for.
