Solved a lot niggles with one quick mod

I am no stranger to the folks who complained about the seat, windscreen, knee pain with the position of stock foot pegs, a slightly less sure footedness of the bike in high speed corners and at times I question the wisdom of buying this bike. However, instead of throwing the kitchen sink at the problem, one mod seems to have fixed all these problems *for me. This might not work for everyone else (I am 6 ft and the bike is low suspension so ergo could be different for a short rider) : M-rearsets

M-rearsets with the footrest pushed back to the most aggressive setting! Now my thighs and knee are pushed up against the tank with stomgrip and I stay there. I know you might think there is no direct correlation between some of these issues but now my weight is forward and my butt is pushed back naturally ever so slightly and now I am locked in with the bike and with the weight forward, the front end has been transformed. I love the seat now! On corners, the front tire stick to the line and the bike is on rails.. I realize with the position of stock pegs with you sitting up & down and not really locked into the tanks, I am sure it was me who was giving ever so slight unwanted steering inputs during high speed cornering (well, you are kind of hanging on to the bars with no lower body connection per se). I have a sport ermax windscreen and now I am slightly tucked in and easy to tuck in more at triple digits. No more helmet buffeting either. Now I am falling for the bike again, alas it's almost at the end of the riding season. I have full akropovic headers but with no Brentune. The bike pulls and pulls and with the new found ergo fix, AMAZING!!!

Again, this is what worked for me but might not work for you. The lesson I learned is that instead of trying to change everything, just start with an ergo fix which might solve it all.

I’m surprised you had ‘low suspension set up’ being a 6 footer.   Glad to hear your at peace with the bike 🙏

I wasn’t looking for a low suspension but ended up finding a manufacture buy back at half price at my usual dealer which happened to be a low suspension. I also wanted to use the bike for track and the low center of gravity also helped. Couldn’t pass up the discount and now I am glad I made the choice. The standard suspension looks too tall like a GS.

Make sure to use a little 243 Locktite on the clutch & brake front pegs. Yes, they can fall of & replacement with the OEM part is difficult. Best, Doc 😳

Went the ‘HP’ rearset route some time back not sure it solved ‘lots of niggles’ but certainly an important part of the jigsaw puzzle  :001:

With low suspension will the pegs touch? My gen 1 has gilles pegs adjusted to highest and back location and my toe sliders are completely worn off. One upgrade is using the RR pegs, for the track they make a big difference

I haven't been able to take it to track yet after the rearsets install but I don't think it will but I won't be able to truly confirm until I take it to the track. Unfortunately, our season is all but done for track riding.

I have K69 with factory low suspension and added M rearsets and get to 57degrees of lean - on track of course  :164:

    They are nicely made too
