Need to replace the battery on my 2016 XR.  Anyone use this as a replacement?  Thoughts?
    Thanks

Ditched my OE battery years ago for lithium and joined the 21st century  :001:, although in fairness run lithium on 5 other bikes.

should be fine - similar dimensions and CCA output to a YTX9BS which is what I fitted to my 2016 bike

Same as Winger, been using Lithium batteries in all my bikes for years without issue....the one in my '17 XR has basically been there since March of '17 when the OEM battery failed and dropped a cell after just 3 weeks..and still turns it over like a sewing machine. I even fitted the exact same Lithium battery to my 2019 Suzuki M109R Boulevard....also turns it over like a sewing machine, which is not easy on an 1800cc twin..

The one I use is smaller, less than 1/2 the weight and more than twice the CCA's of the OEM battery..

Why people still run old Pb batteries these days is a bit of a mystery to me. :027:

To be fair OP asked about replacement batteries and thoughts about that specific battery, the said thoughts are "don't waste your money on a Lead acid battery" Which is valid. There is no benefits to them, not anymore, not even in price. Obsolete technology. If you have one lying around, fair enough, if not, then lithium is a direct upgrade in every way for the same price.

So which lithium do you recommend?
BTW, the battery in my 2016 is original!  It still turns over, but yesterday it had a hard time with my heated gear plugged in.

I'm not even going to answer that as I'll probably get shot down again for answering a direct question this time. :006:
