Hi Just joined the forum after trading in a R1200GSA for a new S1000XR TE..
New bike is currently sat in dealers waiting for me to be able to get back on a bike after a small incident when i took out the XR demonstrator and hit a patch of leaves and mud which resulted in loosing the front end and 3 broken ribs.
More an embarrassment than anything but I've been pretty lucky up unitil this after 37 years of accident free riding.
needles to say i loved the XR so text the sales guy from my A&E bedside and placed the order :)
just wanted to say hi
Cheers Gary

That's quite a test ride, and sorry, but your post made me laugh.
Hope your ribs are on the mend, and you get on your new XR soon enough

Welcome!
Bad luck on the demo - I presume you never took a hit on the repairs?
Easy done on leaves, and some roads become fairly unusable when there are only two clear tracks in the lane and the rest is pulped leaves.
I think my riding year has finished now - roll on spring!
