Gen2 Pannier/Touring Case Prices in the US

So I'm looking to add OEM pannier/touring cases to my my '21 S1000XR. I have the OEMs for my '17 R1200RS but unfortunately they won't fit the gen2 1000XR bikes. So I got a quote from the dealer for both sidecases, with all associate parts (case lid (blackstorm), key cylinder, etc) and the price was just north $1550. I know these are really nice cases, but thinking that's a little steep. Is that close to what others have paid here in the US?

you may want to take thier parts list and plug them into KFM-motorrader.com and see what price they give you. Ordered from them many times and saved mucho $$$$$$

I bought the Shad panniers and mounting kit and it was less than half the price of the BMW panniers. Definitely worth a look.

Interesting. Yeah was just looking at a few sites in Europe and the same exact cases are much, much cheaper.

Thanks! Yeah, I've had Givi and Shad on other bikes and may just have to go that way with my XR.

Shad make the OEM BMW cases, so the quality will be there.

I got quoted $1300 since I bought my bike at the dealership. Still high. Im looking at shad and give but why these 3rd party major brands cannot use the BMW rack? I hate the idea that you need to install a rack on top of that rack lol

I had a givi top box and of course my gen 1 givi plate wouldn't fit the gen 2 so I had to fork out for a new top box plate. The shad pannier system is still cheaper with the mounting kit and panniers than just the BMW panniers.
