    hi!
    today a changed final drive,
i see that the rear sprocket, on this my 2021 is installed with flat side on left,

    on previous xr i had(my 2016)
instead, flat side on rigth, toward wheel.

    very strange.

on your bike how is fitted?

Generally - the writing is on the outside of any parts.

How do the two compare on offset?

I’ve checked my own photos of sprockets on my bike after each change and also library photos online-  and they all show the stepped/writing side as being on the outside.

I have changed sprockets twice, I think - and fitted the rear sprockets as I have described, and ‘probably’ checked the orientation of the first one (OEM) before removing.

You’ve changed the rear sprockets twice on a K69, what mileage are you doing?

Mine is a 2016 Euro3 model.  Done 30,000 miles now and it’s on 3rd chain? (Inc the original).

Why?  Because they only cost around £120 including sprockets.
