Hi Everyone
Just changed from Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX to a Red S1000XR TE 21 model, arrives next week, I guess it’s going to be a long winter this year
Can’t wait to get her out and scratch
Cheers

The SX1000 is supposed to be a great sports-tourer.
What has steered you towards the XR?

Hi
it was my 2nd Kawasaki SX and fancied a change, don’t get me wrong I liked the Kawasaki however was looking at something that would handle better, the XR has good reviews and recommendations from numerous riders, I was looking for something that I could have a days ride in the dales and Scottish Borders but also something I can use to travel to Southern Europe it is more sat up than the Ninja, and hopefully stays reliable for a number of years.
Here’s to my new adventure
Thanks for the welcome

Welcome from a fellow Ironman (although I did mine so long ago I am probably a Rustman by now !).
Enjoy the bike.

First ride in 2023, kept stalling from a standstill until I got use to it, must of got some polish on seat as I was sliding around on it will need to degrease, need to build my confidence in her, out for a couple hours starting to feel my bike, a bit cold but heated grips exceptionally, on step a time to build up confidence.

Had similar myself, my other bike is a Speed Triple which needs less revs pulling away, but I also found when activated there's a slight delay on the hill hold releasing the brake when pulling away which was adding to the "problem". Switching it off until I got more dialled in to the bike helped.
