Hello everyone, New member here in Sunny Florida.  I've had my XR for several months now and just getting to know the bike.  Still struggling with seat height. Hope to get ideas and input from all of you. Happy New year to all.

:400: Welcome to the group! At 5'7" I rode this bike for quite a while at stock height. Manageable yes, but fully loaded for a 2 week trip, lets say a couple of times it was almost dropped.  :005: I finally ordered a Soupys lowering link. https://soupysperformance.com/. I'm glad I lowered it. Makes everyday riding so much nicer. Great thing is I can always put it back If I want.  :152: YMMV. Enjoy the bike and welcome.

Thank you Tied, unfortunately Soupy's lowering links do not work on Gen II bikes.  I sent them an email and asked of anything was in the works and they said nothing yet.  I'm riding in "Minimum" setting for the ESA and put on the Low Seat with thicker sole boots.  Feels real good except not I need lower pegs.  Love the bike regardless.

Welcome to the group,  have you tried eccentric seat mounting rubbers, gets you another 5-10mm lower on the front end of the seat.

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/324901649925

gives a bit of a bigger gap between the seat and the tank protector, but I'm happier with my feet on the ground  :152:

Welcome to the madhouse  :001:, took me years to get the ‘Right’ seat height and I didn’t even start with the stock seat cuz I realised it wasn’t going to work, in the end found some custom job bought of eBay rang all the right bells, but the final part of the jigsaw puzzle which was bought by pure chance were a pair of rearsets, wasn’t expecting anything special but they are fantastic.

Thank you Mcconnac, Winger on the suggestions.  I've tried the "off-set" rubber bushings to bring the front of the seat down.  It worked great but upon quick stops, the "twins" were not real happy.  The combo of the rearsets and lower front would be fatal.

Welcome, I just joined myself, also a Florida boy. My wife is from New Smyrna, we're over there a lot, nice town. Good luck on finding the right seat, that's always a struggle no matter what bike you get.

Welcome!  Can you post a pic of the strip or a link to a bike with one?  I am guessing this is something the previous owner installed since the bike doesn't come with one stock.

It'll be the DRL, factory fitted, as far as I'm aware US don't have them as no LED lights over there (hence your big indicators too instead of normal little LED ones)
