    Black Widow Header's on a Gen !!

    Hi All,

Has anyone fitted a Black Widow header and link pipe to the standard Akrapovic end can on a Gen II M-sport?

I see the system comes with an electronic valve eliminator device, which I guess deletes the exhaust valve.

I’d guess I’d need to get it remapped as well; any advice appreciated.
I’d rather be laying in the Sun like a cat, than working like a dog for the cash!

Short answer is no…only done it on a gen1,the amount of scrap metal strapped up the motor when you take the OE headers and collector box off is an eye opener I can tell you.

Went the PC route for the mapping, the PC actually comes with a map in it to get you going but you really need a run on a dyno to get it right, everyone me included has high hopes of the extra HP etc but I can tell you the eye opener is the extra bottom end end/mid range grunt which is astounding( because it gets rid of the Poxy TUV map)and you end up being able to ride in top gear like a twist-n-go scooter.

Still currently on a learning curve….if you do decide to go ahead be kind to the nuts that hold the headers on header studs they are copper M8’s it at least I think they are 😂 and hopefully out tomorrow buying some more.

Don't see much difference between the Akra and Black widow headers even for Gen 2, I recently helped a mate fit the Akra to his Gen 2, same story as the Gen 1, remove side panels, undo radiator bolts and pull it out the way as much as you can, 13mm deep 12 point socket needed for the copper nuts, it's recommended to replace them but in my friend's case he didn't get any and some of the copper nuts came out with the studs anyway, doubt it'll cause any issues down the line.

Obviously no space for the servo on the new headers, so that was removed and replaced by a healtech ESE, does black widow include it's own brand ESE with the exhaust?

He hasn't settled on a tune yet but it'll either be Brentune or taking it to be Dyno tuned and flashed.
